Day 17 - June 1st - Traveling to St. Gilgen

(Disclaimer - today is another traveling day which is not very exciting.)

Today we took the train and a bus to St. Gilgen. I remember absolutely nothing from that trip except a few snatches of scenery on the bus as I woke up to readjust to get more comfortable. On the actual train I don't think I really slept a whole lot, mostly just read my book and tried, unsuccessfully, to doze.

It was overcast and rainy when we arrived

Ok, this picture (thanks Lori) wasn't from today, but it gives you a good idea of the view we had right outside our hostel.

Yummmm....

Once we got there, we lugged all our luggage through the drizzling rain to the hostel. When we finally got into our rooms (I was with the Thains since I was most likely to be able to sleep through Heather’s snoring), we relaxed for a minute and situated our wet suitcases and jackets. The only picture I have from today is a Doner Kebab sandwich paper wrapper from the cheap little place we ate at for dinner. It tasted pretty dang good to me. We walked around St. Gilgen for awhile, getting the lay of the land and seeing most of the notable sites, then we went home to our beds in the hostel.
