Today we started out at the Julius
Meiner grocery store. It was packed with expensive, high-end food items,
especially fish, chocolate, and alcohol. The chocolates were beautiful….. but I
didn’t buy anything.
eh???
Yum! Oreo and Chips Ahoy cake mixes!!
After wandering around there for awhile, our group headed
over to the Museum Quarter. This is basically a nice social center surrounded
by a lot of cool museums.
(and a lot of PDA)
Here's our group, waiting for the rest of us
We bought tickets for the Leopold Museum and the
Contemporary Art museum. But before going through any museums, we had to try out the little photo booth we
found there in the courtyard. It was pretty much impossible to make us all fit
in there, but we did our best and had a grand old time.
After this, we decided
to eat lunch, and Suzanne was awesome and bought our lunch which was delicious.
Interesting fizzy apple drink
After lunch we braved the Contemporary Art museum, which wasn’t really my
favorite, but there were certainly some interesting things there. Modern art isn’t really my thing.
Don't be fooled, this thing was huge!
After we finished there, it was
late enough that we decided to do the Leopold on another day, we didn’t want to
have to rush it. Some of us dawdled in a cool gift shop under the Contemporary
Art museum while we waited for the rest of the group.
These were some very cool, very overpriced, dish scrubbers. :)
After we powwowed, Lori
and Kaitlyn went back to Stadt Park to meet up with the slacklining group for a
few hours, so Suzanne and Heather were nice enough to let Nicole, Stevie and me
tag along with them while they did a little shopping. We mostly just wandered
around the Stephensplatz until Heather and Suzanne stopped for pizza and Nicole
and Stevie went to H and M. I stayed with Heather and Suzanne and the plan was
to meet the other girls in H and M. After their pizza was gone, Suzanne,
Heather and I went to look for them and they weren’t there, we even looked on
every single level! We were tired of waiting, so we decided to let them figure
out how to get home on their own, while we went to Suzanne and Heather’s
Marriott without them to meet Lori and Kaitlyn for Family Home Evening. Kaitlyn, Lori and I had quite an adventure
trying to find the Institute building, but eventually we did and we had a good
time there, eating and playing games.
It was fun to see how the singles' ward
in Vienna seemed just the same as the ones here. It was also fun to talk to the
missionary couple from Texas who were in charge of the activities.
